well I probably ought to be updating my blog now.
TWO MORE DAYS TO CHRISTMAS!
[just that I'll be spending it alone. boo.]
but anyways my entire family went overseas on sat.
and they're only coming back on 25th/26th.
and I couldn't go thanks to SSEF.
but then again I didn't go to school on mon/tues. zzz.
ok so what've I been doing...
sat - bored. bored. bored. bored. ended up going for RCYC campfire which was quite high although the campfire was quite fail. and they didn't feed us so clive/xinyan/I ended up at tampines at 2230 at macs.
and well ended up catching a last bus home. whee.
sun - surprisingly I managed to wake up on time. zzz. but then like most of sun was wasted like what at piano? and talking on msn.
mon - meeting! which actually had quite a bit of time-wasting but at least it blew one entire day.
tues - ended up waking up at noon ._. then while watering my mum's plants [._.] I managed to get a thorn stuck under my fingernail. as in inside the flesh and all that. so after much pain with nailclippers/tweezers/needles/toothpicks and whatnot decided to go see a doctor zzz. who forced it out with a needle [I couldn't cos like it's kinda hard to see the thing since it was well quite deep in].
ok at least that killed some time.
today - in lab. zzzzzzzzz. UV spec sucks. especially when you have to do it for over a hundred samples. zzz.
so what I've left to do is really just clean up the house before my parents come back.
zzz.
AND I HAVE NOTHING TO DO ON CHRISTMAS EVE/DAY.
boo.

wow this is a very very very very very long-overdue post.
so let's see what happened so far.
but first things first where did I leave off XD.
oh yes EPIC MODERATION!
basically since english ended up with an overall 5.2% mod I have NINE 4.0s and a wonderful 2.8 in HCL. =D
seriously I'm epic.
so like 3.88 again [which was quite surprising, but then again last year the only reason why I got 3.88 and not 3.84 was a mod to SS]. just that this year my scores are quite lol.
62 82 83 84 89 89 92 92 93 94
cos of all the random mod [e.g. for math 2 and bio ._.]
hmm anyway after that GRAD CEREMONY - oh fine the final assembly - was incredibly retarded/fun. I mean after all it WAS our last assembly so we took the opportunity to sing along to the staff procession XD. [well when they were on their way out XD]. and of course since we didn't have any hats to throw people started throwing ties. which somehow escalated into people. which was still incredibly fun.
hmm yeah but it was quite sad come to think of it - I mean like next year there'll be weird people [read: RGS] joining us and all that. haiz.
then grad dinner was epically fail. but who cares at least we all got to camwhore. =D
and that reminds me I will REFUSE to upload my grad dinner photos until at least next year. cos everyone uploads them altogether so there's like a whole mess of them and it's nothing special and all that.
oh and before grad dinner was HCL O's. which went kinda badly cos I didn't understand most of the lijie questions - but then again I never do. oh and apparently I screwed up baozhang too. but niu was damn nice cos she threw a party for us after the paper. =D
seriously I have too many nice teachers.
oh great now I can't remember what I did in the week after HCL Os. I know there was a geogRA BBQ somewhere which ended up in me getting epically lost [cos I don't like east coast/asking for directions] - essentially I ended up getting off like 20 stops later or sth. but seriously ECP SUCKS.
ok now that explains ONE day.
where did that entire week go!
ok fine there was nov camp prep. but that only explains like 2 or 3 days of stuff.
and I know that there was ZD somewhere in which I epically screwed up because I didn't mug [but then again I never do] but still you HAVE to mug for languages so I'm not exactly very sure about taking H1 german but heck. oh and cos I fell to pieces during oral ._.
but up to now I still haven't collected my results so...
anyway what happened after that... november camp was FUN. just that it was too short.
but it was interesting trying to sleep in RC campsite and only getting 30 min of it.
and spamming deep heat is good.
and note to self: stop trying to do everything and step back for once.
ok so after november camp there was stuff like VIP CS1 and eh wait CS1 was before nov camp [which was why I ended up missing most/all the post-CS1 meetings and therefore ended up being hauled out during CS2 and yeah whatever but either way it was stupid]. oh so after VIP CS2 was stuff like AGM and another meeting which was like what 10am to 7pm? cos it was evac practice followed by FLAG PAINTING! at the esplanade underpass no less. which was really very epic. then after that I had to go to IKEA to look for tealights ._.
just that it turned out there were already some in the campsite so it was kinda like a wasted trip. boo. so after that was a whole bunch of other meetings and then VIP camp.
which was actually quite slack/useless [compared to normal standards]. I mean like discipline was ... even though abdul was PWO and stuff. but I hate getting blasted by maams.
note to self 2: stop taking blastings so seriously - they aren't shouting/screaming at you but more like all the other idiots in the group [of which there are too many]
only thing good was well I got evac gold! [in like less than 5h?] oh and we got like what 3h of sleep each night [or less]. so after the camp I ended up sleeping 15h. and waking up at 3pm the next day.
but seriously the camp wasn't that remarkable. AND I HATE CAMPFIRES. AND ARMY STRETCHERS. AND EVIL ROADS THAT KILL YOUR HANDS WHEN YOU'RE TRYING TO DO HUMAN STRETCHER WITH A BUNCH OF GIRLS (I STILL HAVE THE SCARS DAMMIT). AND STUPID PEOPLE LIKE ___________. AND PEOPLE WITHOUT A SENSE OF URGENCY. UGH. OH AND I HATE EAST COAST PARK! whee.
ok rant over.
but VIP was really only fun cos of (some of) the people there.
haiz.
ok so now that VIP is over, after I submitted my camp report [which was full of 1. bullsh*t 2. smoke 3. politically correct stuff 4. long rambling sentences 5. nothing] and well went for the ops AGM thing which was a waste of time and then went for a super long dinner with the VIs which was really quite fun but ended up with me reaching home at 11+ and getting my mum pissed off.
oh and speaking of ops agm thingy we were supposed to be at campsite at 1230. so I woke up at 9. and then fell asleep. and woke up at 905 [cos of the snooze thing on my handphone], turn the snooze function off and decided to sleep a bit more. and then ended up waking up at 1139. so after a VERY mad rush I managed to reach campsite at like what 1235? and that was after missing an LRT, a bus and a train. whee.
ok so yeah now effectively I have nothing much to do.
ok fine I have ISP/SCSF/SSEF.
OH SHIT.
I tell you my last 3 weeks of holidays are going to be like spent in the lab. boo.
so let's see what happened so far.

hmm this is weird.
like well I get disappointed with my results in the papers that I thought I did well in.
and I actually do better than expected for the papers that I screwed up ._.
says something about my expectations I guess. XD.
well anyway results:
eng: 34/45 for compre, 23/30 for essay
well this was ok - at least we avoided certain markers - but then again I kinda screwed up all the 1 mark questions ._. and 4/5 for vocab [yay!]. sadly 7/10 for AQ cos she struck out my entire first point. but then again things could have gone much worse.
23/30 for essay well... ok fine I rambled a bit too much.
overall 78 according to pat's marklist but not sure how the system will calculate it. and how much moderation we'll get.
chem: 77/80 - 29 in section A [thanks to a stupid mistake], 38+2 in section B [thanks to 2 stupid mistakes] and 8 for section C [thanks to a stupid marker ._.]
but then again 77 is very decent. and I still can't believe I was THAT careless. but section B could have been worse. and section C was crap ._. overall 92 [behind GXZ and welras. thanks to ISP XD]
geo: 13/13 [wth!] + 12/13 + 11.5/14 [._.]
did ok for the first question even though I spammed [which I think was the point really] and wrote crap for the FOURTH part question [i.e. mini-essay ._.]
second question was ok.
LORMS essay died cos my conclusion was invalid. so like 3 paragraphs wasted ._.
overall 89
phys: 67 which became 65 and then 66
so I screwed up the MCQs [got the FIRST question wrong AGAIN], most of the structured I was writing rubbish/blowing smoke. and during the checking I realised that CCK had marked a structured qn worth 2 marks wrongly. so 2 marks gone there. but then while showing it to him [cos he has some weird system - everyone who has to change marks places the script on his table opened to the page with the error and he'll call up one by one, so I happened to put the opposite side facing up, and well he was looking at it and realised I should have gotten another mark on the other page ._.] but then it was quite disappointing [but then I didn't UNDERSTAND the paper the first time I did it XD] so then I was wondering if I should take phys or bio ._. overall 89 [yay the second one]
math: 57.5/50
paper 1 was careless. I'm sure they deducted for leaving answer as 19 1/2 instead of simplifying by pulling out a 1/2 ._. argh.
paper 2 was ouch. especially the differentiation question. but shockingly my kinematics was actually CORRECT [except for the last part, cos I forgot that c was not 0], but I confused the marker by putting part 2 before part 1 XD. then this was epic:
2x = 240, 360, 600
x = 120, 240, 300
spotted the error?
haiz. and then SOMEHOW I managed to get full marks for the circ measure question even though I rushed it and finished it with like a few seconds to spare. =D. so overall was 94 and 89 [the third one]
so during recess I was suanning people by saying that my lowest 4.0 was an 89 XD.
but seriously then my overall scores were like
62 78 89 89 89 92 92 94
so by right if I had a 3.6 for either of the next 2 papers I'd end up with a 3.80 GPA [using new system]. and if I had a 3.6 for both it'd still be 3.80. and if I had 0.8 for both it would ALSO be 3.80. something's very rotten here.
so either I had to hope for 2 4.0s in BIO AND SS. both of which had many people dying tragic deaths. or just heck.
so bio: 18/21 for MCQ [which was actually better than the original 25/30 XD] and 44/59 for structured = 62/80
hmm so actually I died in quite a few structured questions for lack of key words. but got saved by 6/6 for essay. and the entire economic botany structured question XD. and for the muscle/bone question which I smoked through. but it was really better than I expected [but then again I put in a BIT of effort by reading bryan's notes and interrogating dewin on msn]. so overall 82.
then SS - 15/20 for globalisation [!] and 16/20 for venice [!!!]
cos globalisation well it was a GEOG topic and as a rule of thumb geog students were supposed to do better than history ones so like most people in our class had 16/17/18. but then I got stuck at L3 cos he struck out FOUR paragraphs of conclusion. T.T
and on the other hand venice from the way OWL made it out to be it seemed like everyone died. so I expected to screw this one up but I didn't. but the irony is that [according to her notation at least] I brought in SIX other factors apart from the given one. and thus spent too little time on the conclusion. so overall 82. phew.
so really for my humans papers actually I've been dying quite badly for LORMS [at least under OWL] cos either I write too much conclusion that doesn't get counted or I write too little which DOES get counted ><.
and well my results look quite nice now:
HCL 62
ENG 78
SS 82
BIO 82
PH 89
MA2 89
GEO 89
CH 92
GER 92
MA1 94
so although it wasn't as nice a pattern as last year's [90 89 88 87 86 84 83 80] the numbers are quite nice. cos so many end in 2 or 9. XD
so overall 3.84 using the OLD system. ha.
but then again I just realised that since noone got a perfect 4 i.e. the people with 9 subs in GPA i.e. 10-subject people [cos the school counts RE/philo as a subject] have at most 8 4.0s and 1 3.6 but if my english gets moderated up I'll get 9 4.0s and 1 2.8. which will be quite epic. especially since I'll be like one of the people with the most 4.0s and yet with a very low GPA [people with 6 4.0s can hit 3.90 using the NEW system ._.] and yet I'm capped at 3.88. stupid HCL. and even people with 5 4.0s and 3 3.6s can get 3.85.
._.
well at least I did better than I expected [especially with regard to bio/SS/geo/english. and I should count myself pretty lucky I guess]. and again there's not much difference between 3.80 or 3.84 or 3.85 or 3.88.
so school's ending.
T.T

376/aquaporins!
math was a disaster. yay!
well fine math 1 was ok just that most of us lost at least 1 mark due to careless XD.
but math 2 basically I wasted too much time at the start - CHANGING CORRECT ANSWERS TO WRONG ONES! argh.
and ironically the only question I feel confident about was the question that I chionged at the last minute i.e. circ. measure.
but at least I have a decent 23-mark cushion ._.
BIO IS DISGUSTING.
I'm feeling very disinclined towards mugging right now.
especially since it SEEMS like I know most of the stuff after skimming through everything [just that I don't know the details/key words which is what's going to sink me tomorrow].
but I'm lazy.
oh and speaking of my finger [cos vincent ong who stalks this blog asked about it] the part that was yellow [cos of pus, inflammatory response/whatever] is now brownish [mainly cos it's under the skin]. it might be black though. but at least it doesn't hurt anymore.
off to do some more skimming of notes ._. [cos I really can't bring myself to do rote learning/memorisation]. and cos I tend to rely more on my gut than anything else.
well one last paper and then we're done!
and after that we have three days of intensive chinese remedial. yay.

375/1 more paper!
well that's what jian/huang would say. XD.
well no papers tomorrow [yay].
so essentially I spent the whole evening slacking. on youtube. and I ADMIT IT I WAS LISTENING TO TAYLOR SWIFT. but she's good! [yes ben she is. and I don't like jason mraz. ha.]
hmm what happened today - physics! I didn't understand the paper but I could do it ._. so essentially what I did was to throw all my formulae/laws at each question and just whack. XD.
but since I forgot all my magnetism and whatnot well I'm expecting maybe 60/80. especially since I didn't study.
cos I wasted fri/sat/sun doing nothing.
and I started on geog on monday at 7pm ._.
so yeah I kinda forgot physics entirely XD.
yeah and my fourth finger on my right hand is screwed. cos I slammed it in a door I think. and then it bashed the nail in so now it's like growing into the flesh. so it hurts whenever I apply any sort of pressure to it.
so like I can't hold my pen properly ._. oh and there was pus oozing out of my finger during physics.
yeah so anyway my handwriting was a little screwed. and I made a whole bunch of careless mistakes during the paper. =D
and strangely enough [again] I found the bonus question easier than most of the structured ones ._.
so anyway finished the paper with about 20 min to spare zzz.
then GEOG! I spotted quite well really. =D
but then...
section 1: 3×3 mark questions = 3-4 paragraphs each = ¾pages each ._.
PLUS a 4 mark question so about 1 page to that
IN 30 MIN MIND YOU
section 2: 7 mark question with diagrams
2×3 mark questions ._.
IN ANOTHER 30 MIN
section 3: 2×2 marks = about 1 long-ish para each ._.
and LORMS essay.
IN 30 MIN
so needless to say I ran out of time. zzz. but my handwriting was neater than last year even though I wrote less.
and I might have screwed up section 1 - cos my answer to the 4 mark question was VERY smoky ._. and too short.
section 3 I might not have hit L4 depending on how OWL sees it.
argh I'm terribly incoherent today.
must be the lack of sleep. and I'm typing with 9 fingers - which is actually quite easy just that I tend to get the order of letters wrong [cos I type without looking at the keyboard and also damn quickly].
zzz stupid finger.
rawr off to mug bio tmr ._.
depending on when I wake up and how lazy I feel XD.
well no papers tomorrow [yay].
so essentially I spent the whole evening slacking. on youtube. and I ADMIT IT I WAS LISTENING TO TAYLOR SWIFT. but she's good!
IN 30 MIN

374/to hell with mugging
ok I'm only posting cos I'm too lazy to do any work right now. XD.
and cos the next paper is so far away! [ok fine I'm deluding myself.]
but I've really been slacking the whole day away. AGAIN. I seem to do that every saturday. argh.
well anyway chem was a joke. I mean the hardest question in the whole paper HAD to be the crossword. XD.
but of course I was careless [reading cm³ as dm³ and ending up with an answer 1000x the actual one - way back in sec3 I had an answer 1000x less than the actual one cos I messed up another conversion. XD]. but seriously chem was a farce.
and my right shoulder hurts thanks to SS.
and GEOG. oh noes.
and I discovered that I lost my thermometer. O.o

oh joy I'm not in EOY mood yet XD.
as in well english went quite well normally - i.e. I screwed up here and there, like any other compre - but who cares. AQ was quite horrible though. wasted too much correction tape.
SS might just be a disaster - OWL's marking! venice was VERY smoky (very few specific examples; I forgot the names) - but that's cos I started mugging at 8pm the night before. and I'm very good at getting distracted. but at least I managed to bring in rise, fall of venice, as well as NS, active citizenry, civil society, isthmus of kra [yay], principles of governance AND an NE message to boot. oh and I used globalisation as part of my conclusion ._.
but it was smoky.
globalisation was much worse - ran out of things to write ._. and conclusion was crap. and with OWL I might end up with L2 ._. haiz.
oh and my handwriting was uniformly bad. =D
but seriously well I slacked until about 8+ today. again. and it seems like I've been treating EOYs as CCTs - i.e. only mug at the last minute. XD. hooray for last-minute cramming!
._.
argh who cares. it's almost friday. and monday's a holiday.
so I'll start freaking out over geog on like sunday or sth. =D
OH and CA marks!
this will be surprising:
my highest sub for now is PHYSICS!
so it's like
phys: 93
philo: 88.85
chem: something that got rounded to 89 i.e. should be lower than philo.
but KSP dropped most/all the evil quizzes ._. you know we have at least FOUR components that have been dropped this year ><
geog: 87 [like wth]
english: 78 [!]
chinese: 62 overall. YAY.
so like my chinese went from 1.6 to 2.0 to 2.8.
._.
argh who cares.

zzz school.
I haven't started mugging yet.
still.
spent 2h on failblog this afternoon. and reading random stuff on wiki. as always.
well anyway EOY revision isn't that bad - I mean looking at EOY schedule:
wk5 thurs eng [can't mug] SS [mug venice I guess]
fri chem [heck - except maybe some RP stuff that KSP just threw notes at us e.g. hydrogen fuel cell ._.]
wk6 mon holiday!
wk6 tues phys [formulae ._.] and geog [need to find examples for pollution + mug rivers]
wk6 wed nothing!
wk6 thurs math [which seems easier this year. and strangely enough the hardest topics are like vectors. and R formulae. and circ measure. and essentially anything which requires me to visualise stuff. I mean like trigo/differentiation/integration are all damn fun!]
wk6 fri bio [die].
so revision will look like this:
wk5 wed start - venice
wk5 thurs skim chem
wk5 fri slack
wk5 sat slack
wk5 sun geog! [i.e. slack]
wk6 mon geog and phys
wk6 tues bio ._.
wk6 wed bio ._./skim math
wk6 thurs bio ._.
well actually I doubt I'll spend so much time on bio per se - but rather digging up all my notes ._. which are all in one huge pile with all the papers that I've gotten throughout the year. ok fine they're in several huge piles ._.
argh.

(frisbee!)³
this blog is still moving awfully slowly.
mainly cos I slept at 330am on sunday trying to finish the OIP booth thingy for RE congress.
and then I slept at 9pm on monday to make up for it.
and then tuesday I spent the whole day reading ._.
and today was RE congress. and I slept from like 4 to 7 or something.
so I can't really remember what happened these few days. and I'm very sleepy right now ._.
well congress - at least this year the presentations weren't that zzz - thankfully no business@school and all that random stuff. and the GOH's talk was relatively short. and I completed two booklets during the VIP session!
then after that off to semrooms 7/8 for the OIP booth thingy. so first part was spent trying to grab stickers - and eventually managed to get extra [cos prefects are blind].
then set up the laptop to give model answers.
then like started giving away stickers to anyone who wanted them.
then since I had 6 other blank booklets [cos some 4H people *ahem* shek/welras *ahem* weren't in school] gave some away [to let people copy answers] and well filled up 3 myself.
so if they actually read the booklets they'll find 2 with my name on them. but with different [and proper] text of course. and the third booklet well I got leonggen to claim it for me. and well for that 3rd booklet I had people like brandon/weihan/bryan and everyone copying stuff out of it word for word and all that ._.
oh so in the end I had 1 white and 2 black frisbees. yay.
oh and >30 people asked me for one when they saw it ._.
ok I'm still sleepy.
and I owe OWL an essay.
and I haven't started mugging for EOYs! probably will start next week I guess.
after I finish geog. ugh.

this blog is progressing at a glacial pace.
and speaking of glacial organic chem is VERY fail.
[we were using glacial acetic acid. that's the link. ha.]
cos right I think siakpeng ordered the wrong alcohol. cos we were supposed to be making isopentyl acetate but they gave us isopropanol instead ._. [i.e. we ended up with isopropyl acetate which is a totally different thing. and which does not smell like bananas at all.
and the way the lesson was planned [i.e. the worksheet koped from the net] means that noone will be able to finish the thing in the 2 lessons given ._.
and I wasted my free period staying back after the organic chem module to try to finish the stupid experiment.
well the only thing I can say is that it's fun refluxing stuff.
hmm I've been incredibly busy these few days. [ok maybe not unless you count stuff like facebook as being busy].
refurbishment went well [shockingly I don't recall hearing of any complaints from the residents]. just that most of the people in block 62 got taken for an excursion by the lions' befrienders so a lot of RI guys were out of a job ._.
yeah so that was the only problem.
and painting is fun.
and my house t-shirt is win.
for the rest of the stuff on homecreation check here.
I spent about an hour typing that one out already ._.
yeah anyway dmp is still quite fun/slack.
just that I wasted too many of my free periods.
and ISP will be epic fail.
anyway what's left to do:
1. CLE POSTER
2. RE CONGRESS POSTER FOR OIP [and I'm soloing ._.]
3. GEOG ESSAY
4. ISP
5. revision
and everyone else has already started mugging for EOYs. argh.
but for me I guess it'll be like what spend one day on bio 1h30 on geog 1h on physics and SS 30 min on math and heck the rest.
or I could not study at all.
but then my bio would die ._.
AND I HATE THE NEW GPA SYSTEM.

no rest for the weary
ugh I almost fell asleep.
at 8pm.
let's see DMP is quite ok. but for example take tuesday. full timetable + refurb briefing + sorting out mess during/after refurb briefing + losing voice during refurb briefing + block party prep + going late for 3rdlang + almost falling asleep during LISTENING COMPRE. and yeah.
and today well stayed back in lab till 630 to do ISP. and troubleshoot stuff.
oh fine we spent 30 min playing with cornflour + water.
and what I need to do is basically read an article [a JOURNAL article] by tomorrow. well it's interesting and all but it's really dry and well rather sleep-inducing.
oh and I still have geog essays and chem reflections and more chem stuff to chiong out BY THE END OF THIS WEEK.
and refurbishment on saturday.
so basically thanks to all these although everyone else has already started mugging for EOYs I'm still trying to tie up my CA.
argh.
oh and I tried crashing one of OWL's geog lessons with her sec1s today and she actually let me. but then 1G pissed her off so she chased me away so she could scold them.
._.
argh.
anyway ANOTHER full day tomorrow.
with geog [alright save for the essay] hcl [ugh but thankfully she's just going through prelims] and facilitation [ugh AND I have work to do but I think I can do it during HCL. XD]
and ISP [again] after that.
meh.

k haven't updated this since well a very long time ago.
but I've finally gotten blogger to work.
so starting from the holidays:
monday - RI-NTU
tues - green game [7am in RI] followed by RI-NTU
wed - ISP in school for the whole day ><
thurs - ditto
fri - 6 hour geog lesson ._.
so essentially I almost died during the holidays.
but DMP's for slacking right? nope.
1. trade/aid PT - 3k words
2. rivers essay - 1.5k words
3. chem reflections - 500 to 3k words
4. org chem quiz - i.e. memorise whole of org chem [which I didn't do and thus screwed up very badly but really I don't care]
5. ISP - have to do a presentation on wk2 sat and we haven't even gotten any results yet.
so yeah.
oh and BATCH CIP ><
but anyway dmps are fun.
GE4B geog of religion is hilarious [especially with mrs koh]. and even though there are way too many debaters in there she never understands their [history/debate-style] questions and just twists it into something geog-related [on purpose? XD]. so I'm actually learning stuff.
EL9A reading a movie watching a book is really slack especially since mrs d'cruz spent half of the first lesson marking attendance and telling stories.
CH6B is extremely lol. cos right the module was planned by siakpeng but then ours is conducted by mrs yau - who essentially tells us to follow the procedure [and she's very good at bullying the lab techs].
on the other hand:
CE1A is horrible - I mean seriously the only reason why people want to be OIP facils is cos they want to go for OIP again. and so stop acting like so moral and saying what you want to help the sec3s and all that zzz.
MT8A is just 1h30 of chinese every other day. but I've managed to get away with not doing her work. anyway all we're doing now is changwen.
oh and SHOCKINGLY. I got 64.25 for my prelims. mainly due to a 15/20 for yingyongwen and 17/20 for changwen ._. oh and 41/70 for zuowen [even though half the baozhang was jianyi ._.] oh and I got 10/20 for zonghe even though I randomed the whole thing.
wow.
ok now time for lunch.

hmm I really have this habit of posting one week and then not at all the next.
but then now I'm really tired so yeah.
cos have been chionging socdoc a lot - thurs until 3am, sat/sun until 11pm at clement's house so yeah.
and we're still trying to subtitle!
but then again socdoc meetings generally involve a lot of cards/slacking/eating so yeah.
anyway school's starting to be hell again - ok fine we were isolated without aircon on the 7th floor last week so it kinda FELT like hell [ok I'm exaggerating but then our class koped 2 extra fans from the class next door so yeah] - but then isolation was fun cos we got our own recess and well the 7th floor is really good for playing cards. XD.
ok so anyway really what do I have due in the next few weeks or so:
english
adult critic [!!!]
showcase portfolio - seriously I'm going to organise it ALPHABETICALLY ._. and not like I have much to show really.
book club - I finished the book. yay. but I read in like groups of 100 pages and then fall asleep for several hours afterward.
math
apparently there's a CCT tmr but who cares. differentiation is fun [as long as I don't screw up]. and I still kinda like integration.
but no PTs etc so I don't care.
SS
argh socdoc. although our whole class got extended since we're a H1N1 class XD. so that WAS one perk of being on the 7th floor.
hcl
zhuanti [huh no idea what it is just that it's due in two weeks' time ._.]
prelims [seriously godie. and I need a dictionary [again] ._. and all she's been doing so far are just chengyu. which make no sense to me]
oh and I owe her 2 zuowens! or more.
chem
NCT, ANCQ, ISP, SCSF, whole bunch of notes to read - ugh.
at least organic chem is interesting once you get over all the memorisation.
phys
magship! my group's going to kill me - but I've been really busy with socdoc T.T
CCT in week something - who cares I kinda understand electromagnetism and practical electricity isn't even a topic.
bio
FREAK SPA REPORT haven't submitted yet ><
OMG BIO REFLECTIONS again haven't submitted yet - seriously too busy ><
and CCT on thurs apparently - seriously need to read botany and smoke my way thru ._.
geog
overdue essay, development PT which is effectively an essay - ugh.
hopefully no CCT though [although I think there is ._.]
german
who cares XD.
ok so well it doesn't LOOK that bad but considering that it's all clustered together and that I'm running behind for geog/hcl/bio [the first two kinda expected but then since geog was from term 2 and hcl from god-knows-when [but then it's the same every year] so yeah. but bio's surprising.] and then magship and socdoc are dangerously close. followed by bio CCT, NCT, ANCQ i.e. have to finish RJ org chem by FRIDAY. then the next week showcase portfolio is due and so on so forth so I'm going to die.
meh.

magship! my group's going to kill me - but I've been really busy with socdoc T.T
CCT in week something - who cares I kinda understand electromagnetism and practical electricity isn't even a topic.
bio
FREAK SPA REPORT haven't submitted yet ><
OMG BIO REFLECTIONS again haven't submitted yet - seriously too busy ><
and CCT on thurs apparently - seriously need to read botany and smoke my way thru ._.
geog
overdue essay, development PT which is effectively an essay - ugh.
hopefully no CCT though [although I think there is ._.]
german
who cares XD.
ok so well it doesn't LOOK that bad but considering that it's all clustered together and that I'm running behind for geog/hcl/bio [the first two kinda expected but then since geog was from term 2 and hcl from god-knows-when [but then it's the same every year] so yeah. but bio's surprising.] and then magship and socdoc are dangerously close. followed by bio CCT, NCT, ANCQ i.e. have to finish RJ org chem by FRIDAY. then the next week showcase portfolio is due and so on so forth so I'm going to die.
meh.
15 July 2009
365/whee
hmm school these few days is zzz.
and I'm falling sick.
my brother got a 7 day MC just for flu-like symptoms. and I feel feverish but the thermometer refuses to admit that I have a fever. ugh.
and apparently wesley caught it from me [even though by right I don't have it] so he has a fever too. I'm jealous.
anyway school - tues was totally boring cos they decided to pay us back for the period 6 that they cancelled on wk1 mon - so timetable was like math HCL english chem HCL.
so math we didn't do much - went through apps of differentiation for TA tomorrow [i.e. today] and then well we didn't want him to go on cos we thought that we'd mix up integration and differentiation.
first HCL went through mock paper that I didn't do i.e. really really boring.
english was just talking about the model AQ that we had to grade and well we went very off-tangent [especially since it's about children's TV XD]. chem was in the lab - electrolysis with leong gen. XD. and then hcl again but then I realised that I left my bag in the lab ._. so anyway after doing a bit of stuff [I can't remember] we played more chengyuyouxi. so my group got pwned in the first round but then we won the next. and she used the sec2 worksheets [which I think I did before] so my guessing was uncannily accurate. oh and chengyu games are damn fun cos they're damn noisy and I can shout a lot of random things.
3rdlang was the usual stuff. but rather slack still.
wed: TA was horrible - redid question 2 four times in total [substituted wrongly, wrong formula, differentiated wrongly, careless] and all that so it really was a mess.
and question 1 I forgot quotient rule.
then geog was zzz. as usual. and she spent ONE [and maybe a bit of tomorrow] lesson on aid.
physics quiz was a bit easier [ok fine it was a lot easier] just that I didn't know how to justify the wiring mistakes so I wrote a lot of rubbish. oh and dc motors are interesting. and I KINDA get magnetism. but not electricity.
hcl was boring - wait she didn't actually do anything except go through chengyu and get us to check our CA marks. I managed to pass. =D
cle was boring - marriage vows. zzz. but it was still funny.
english she tried to get us to write an AQ but we hated the question. so we ended up grading more [funnier] samples. just that darren and I seemed to disagree with everyone else.
zzz.
then loitered a bit more [really who cares - and they're bringing back everything next week T.T] in school. and in J8.
ok shall sleep now [cos I feel sick even though the thermometer says I'm not. I tell you it must be broken.]

ok I feel like I'm falling sick.
yay me.
hmm school today was boring.
but tomorrow will be worse - they've decided to pay back for the period 6 that they cancelled in wk1 by replacing assembly with it. I.E. DOUBLE CHINESE TOMORROW.
but then again since she was inquarantine segregation in wk1 does that mean that we get a free period?
tomorrow is seriously boring - math CHINESE english chem CHINESE. and 3¼h of german. ugh. and no elearning done as always.
school today:
chem - we social-distanced ourselves away from the teacher.
and I didn't really pay much attention.
and we were playing paper throughout the whole lesson so it was rather fruitful.
oh and KSP thought that the aircon wasn't working and forced us to open all the windows when in actual fact it was just that it had just been turned on so he didn't feel anything - well either way we just complied and didn't care.
SS was rather interesting but this is "globalisation through a historical approach" - and no I'm not kidding today we learnt about china/deng xiaopeng, the cold war/fall of berlin wall/weird russian people/glasnost/perestroika and so on - ugh. she said that geog looks at things from time and space and that gives a very negative view of globalisation [first point true second not really] ._.
so anyway to quote OWL: "geog looks at things from time and space, history is all time no space". also "history is very clear - all dead man's [sic] story". which is also rather true.
also it was fun waving to OWL while she was having lesson in 4J. and seriously her SS looks more interesting than geog.
followed by the 3 ‘P’s - PE, Philo, Physics. PE - VQ wasn't here so we played soccer. Philo - KC wasn't here so we didn't have to present and instead were tasked to "work on our projects" - which for us mainly involved photoshopping things/pictures of women cos we'd chionged the whole thing yesterday ._.
physics - sadly he was here [aww.] but he seemed in quite a good mood [which was strange considering that he had 4Q before that - oh maybe that was why he seemed so pissed off at the start - but anyway -] and didn't even confiscate aaron's phone when he smsed in class. oh and we got let off early. for lunch. in an empty-ish canteen.
oh and so much for social distancing when 4 sec4 classes had 3rd period PE today.
oh and DMP's back on! [albeit in a modified form - I tell you the announcement really doesn't mean anything - it's just to keep us happy - and we might end up with stuff like 1 day DMP or something ._. - but then again it'd be great to have DMP WITHOUT the sec3s. yay.]
ok then HCL - we distracted her by asking her to let us play that chengyu game so she didn't go through the test paper which I didn't do/bring. oh and she returned a baozhang that I didn't do/submit either.
then home.
I could get used to going home early you know.
just that CCAs are starting again next week [apparently].
damn.
yay me.

363/ok I'm bored
and trying to make up for all the times which I didn't post
so this thing from aaron:
Google your name, and write down the first webpage link name that makes grammatical sense and is relevant or just pick the funniest one on the first page of results.
1. Google “(your name) needs”:
martin needs to get drunk [._. I don't even like alcohol. yet]
martin needs to get laid [no comments]
martin needs medical treatment [no comments]
martin needs to stop disposing of hard drives with top-secret data intact [lol.]
2. Google “(your name) looks like”:
martin looks like a cartoon character [no I don't ._.]
martin looks like a 'giant, black wet sock' [...]
martin looks like yoda [NO!]
3. Google “[your name] likes”:
martin likes his independence [sadly you can't get any in singapore]
martin likes to sew [._. I can't sew for nuts]
4. Google “[your name] says”
martin says being sued is inspiring [oh no it isn't if you're in singapore]
5. Google “[your name] wants”:
martin wants a tattoo [ok maybe]
martin wants broadband across USA [no I don't. maybe free broadband across singapore though]
6. Google “[your name] does”:
martin does haiku [ok lol...]
7. Google “[your name] hates”:
martin hates business models [well I hate econs]
8. Google “[your name] can”:
martin can't get michael jackson tickets [._.]
martin can't yet see the point of government [well at least the singaporean one]
9. Google “[your name] goes”:
martin goes gambling in japan [O.o]
10. Google “[your name] is”:
martin is out of order
11. Google “[your name] loves”:
martin loves duopoly
martin loves c****s
ok that was retarded.
and I censored quite a bit.
zzz.

362/wow this is slow
ok I'm like updating weekly now or something.
maybe cos I'm too lazy to update this anymore.
but then again now I'm only updating cos I'm too lazy to do any work.
hmm school - can't quite remember what's been going on.
just that they cancelled DMP. so we're trying to get it back again and well from the looks of things it might be working.
what else - english: I still don't understand AQ.
physics: I still don't understand magnetic fields and all that
chem: I still don't understand electrochem [and I actually fell asleep in class]
geo: I still don't understand whatever she's talking about [but neither does the rest of the class]
hcl: I never did understand whatever she's been doing anyway. and I owe her a [few] zuowens + those mock paper thingies.
so really I'm still in like holiday mode or something.
what else...
bio: stem cells are zzz. and he owes us food + ice cream
SS is geog.
PE is ok - cos we group the people who can't play soccer together.
math is fun. relatively speaking. just that I don't like definite integrals.
ok so yes this week is rather boring. or maybe I've forgotten everything already.

ok fine so I haven't been posting.
well mainly cos wk1 didn't even seem like school - like what no homework/period 6/CCA/RA CLASSES so I'm like home at like 2/3pm [mainly cos I still stay in school a bit and talk to people like wesley cos I really don't enjoy joining the crowds walking to the MRT station and all that].
so anyway timetable got reshuffled, so we have stuff like CLE before lunch and math after. and 3RD PERIOD PE ON FRIDAY! [just that now they shifted all sec2s/3s to 2nd recess on fridays for "social distancing" and all that bs so we can't enjoy it. yet. but then looking on the bright side of things sec2s and 3s lost their lunch. XD. as in the school moved period 6 up for them so they get dismissed earlier but we get an [emptier] canteen.]
oh and 6th period resumes tmr. meh.
and anyway school's been very slack cos the locked up all the boarders so like 4E had 10 people gone, 4F lost 6, 4I lost 8 and 4J lost 11 or something like that. so really they can't do anything can they. XD.
so anyway I haven't really done much work [if any] - been sleeping 12h every day [i.e. from 12 - 12 ._.] so don't really feel that tired. chionged out quite a few questions for humans quiz though. just that we might not even have it considering how 2 assemblies have been converted to PDI already.
oh and YAY FOUNDERS' DAY POSTPONED!
anyway for school
english - she got kinda pissed that we didn't submit metacognitive but then went back to her usual self afterwards.
math - I kinda like integration just that it's a bit annoying. and noone's told me how to integrate sec x yet. meh. I think I have this total love-hate relationship with math or something cos I don't want to take it in JC and really it's just PAINFUL but then again it gives me my 4.0s [CONSISTENTLY] so yeah.
geo - development and more development. and she axed tourism so darren and I are crying foul.
chem - usual waste of time. I hate electric cell cos it's really physics and I still can't understand what the heck potential difference is. and seriously what's the difference between V and I ._.
so that brings us logically to physics - ok I don't quite get magnetic fields either but then there are RULES. so it's like kinematics all over again [which was really my best topic last year - just memorise the formula and WHACK. but this time we get to play with our hands. how wrong is that XD]
bio - he's still on ECONOMIC BOTANY. oh and got back CCT2, shockingly got a 27 cos even though I screwed up diabetes [thought it had something to do with glucagon/glycogen apparently I still made sense somehow]. but economic botany is fail.
hcl - NY got quarantined! so first period was wait the first HCL lesson got cancelled cos it was a period 6, next lesson CSK came in, gave us 2 zonghes and 1 suoduan which we all discussed even though she told us not to. then we had this relief who put us through a full paper 1. but I still didn't finish in the end.
philo was a free period and so was CLE cos both had nothing planned for this week. XD.
first PE lesson was slack. second one also. but seriously SOCCER? ugh.
ok what else... nothing much really.
and now school REALLY starts.
and we got 3 frenchies joining our class! whee.

aka 360th post.
yay.
and that's the reason why you should NEVER do math in holidays.
especially trigo.
just that I've almost forgotten all my identities but thankfully none of them came out in WSC except double angle.
lol.
speaking of WSC it was alright.
especially since I really didn't expect anything out of it in the first place.
and really the only reason why shek's team did that well was cos they got some screwed up debate judge.
so really my team should have done better than theirs XD. cos we beat them in challenge and bowl i.e. the 2 more unbiased sections.
shockingly my team managed to get full marks in lit/hist for bowl. which was a drastic improvement from Singapore finals. but then we could have done a lot better if I hadn't screwed up geog/econs + spoke up for art ._.
oh and 9/10 for math which was quite yay although it was quite scary - e.g. synthetic division of like what a 5th degree polynomial in 15s? or solving log equations ._.
but seriously considering how little effort I put in [relatively speaking] and how much bridge we played it was quite alright.
and shockingly I managed to get prizes for history AND math.
ok anyway for the rest of the holidays - monday was spent slacking, tues went back to school for socdoc - where we discovered the new 'security measures' - basically they locked all the gates except for the main one so everyone goes in/out from there AND they scan your ezlink cards when you enter AND exit.
so instead of climbing over gates for lunch we got OWL to drive us out.
XD.
today was spent shopping for phys PT. got wires and batteries but still can't find magnets. then had lunch with aaron and went home and just slacked.
until now.
which is like 1am.
whee.
EDIT: just found this on school website, talking about how the school is in lockdown mode [i.e. all gates closed, IC scanning - THANKFULLY NO TEMPERATURE TAKING]:
"students are advised to refrain from entering the school by other means."
XD

I must really stop reading depressing books just before I sleep.
plan for holidays [tentative]:
wk2: WSC prep
wks3 - 4: homework!
plan for holidays [actual]:
wk2: slack
wks3 - 4: slack
wk4 sun: finish all my homework.
zzz I'd rather have school lor.
anyway my list of homework! with commentary!
1. WSC geo
2. WSC lit
3. WSC hist
4. WSC art
5. WSC econs
6. WSC math [ok not really]
7. WSC DEBATES. ugh.
[ok fine I should have just lumped all of them together. but that like totally diminishes their impact or whatever you call it.]
8. METACOGNITIVE REFLECTIONS [already overdue!]
9. physics file ._. [which might be overdue depending on how you interpret "week 1"]
10. geog essay [which is so going to be overdue cos it's due in wk2 i.e. WSC time]
10½. speaking of overdue essays I think I have two zuowens which were due in term 2 [but they don't really count I think]
11. math PT ._.
12. bio SPA report [meh. shall get daniel to write and then I edit XD]
13. physics performance task [which will be a total waste of time]
14. RE REFLECTIONS [maybe overdue but most of my group hasn't submitted yet XD]
15. hcl - dunno. a whole set of papers but who cares? and zhuanti [maybe]
16. book club. heck we don't even have a book yet.
17. adult critic. I don't care I'm so going to fake it lor.
18. SOCDOC! well I need to find people to interview but I don't like EMAILING them.
19. ISP ._.
20. CHAOS [maybe]
21. German book review - need to find a book first
22. German ZD practice ._.
23. interhouse humans quiz
24. greengame
25. I think I've forgotten something... damn.
so yes I'm rather screwed. and I feel sleepy.
oh yes 25. PHILO!!!
and 26. math assignment 6B which we're so going to end up doing in class anyway XD.
zzz I need to do WSC stuff but I so want to sleep.
damn.
plan for holidays [tentative]:
wk2: WSC prep
wks3 - 4: homework!
plan for holidays [actual]:
wk2: slack
wks3 - 4: slack
wk4 sun: finish all my homework.
zzz I'd rather have school lor.
anyway my list of homework! with commentary!
1. WSC geo
2. WSC lit
3. WSC hist
4. WSC art
5. WSC econs

4 June 2009
meh
zzz I'm falling sick.
so really haven't posted.
but anyway holidays so far
mon: NEA EC networking thing organised by RIJC [i.e. fail] - basically a whole bunch of random games [which the RI team pwned at] and then some random talks. and then 1h30 of project planning which we just did in like 30 min and spent the rest of the time talking to mengsiew/our facil-person who incidentally was mengsiew's good friend i.e. does nothing - so really it was quite fail. and the food wasn't THAT good. XD.
but seriously the view from the 25th floor of the environment building was quite cool.
and I discovered that that weird NPCC J1 who's always tormenting the sec4s is the chair of RJgreenearth [or oneEarth as they call it but whatever].
then tues: 4h of HCL with 4P ._.
so actually NY wanted to have it in the 4H classroom but then turns out that *another chinese teacher* koped it so we ended up having it in 4P instead.
and I was like the only 4H guy who went for this session [well ian came for 2h too]. 116.5/200 I think. mainly cos I failed zuowen and got ALL the MCQ compre questions but one wrong [i.e. 8 free marks gone]. and ian managed to scrape 100.5/200. and NY emailed the whole class 4H AND 4P's midyear marks ._.
so anyway going through the paper was quite boring cos I forgot everything already.
then off to WSC for a while, then to J8 for lunch which we all bought back and ate in the classroom. then had to meet ms tang for some accelerated learning stuff. so we [darren/me/semen] waited in the HOD room cos she was still talking with the history things. and when we went into her office-thingy the aircon was at full blast and pointed straight at me THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE MEETING. so I've been sick ever since.
then a bit more slacking for WSC and then home.
wed - computational chem workshop at NUS [USP which is damn close to FASS so it was really quite easy to get there [for me at least] - so anyway quite a few people got lost.] and 95 is really quite a horrible bus - on wed I managed to get on but leonggen/ziyang didn't. ha.
so anyway I was feeling rather sick and didn't even understand any of the physics - what's quantum mechanics anyone? seriously I still have no idea what it is.
but anyway went to arts canteen for lunch - NUS food is bloody cheap [relatively speaking of course] - and since we had a 1h30 lunch break we spent the rest of the time playing cards. then a bit more talking where I nearly fell asleep and then off to the lab where we fooled around with some modelling software and went on facebook etc.
then the next day was essentially the same just that I actually understood more cos I already know MO theory ._. but I still don't get quantum mechanics. so anyway during lunch we were playing charades. so anyway the prof came in but we demanded a bit more time so yiyan had to act out the phrase "ms denise" in front of the whole class. XD.
then yeah so actually the course was quite boring and incomprehensible. and I feel sick. damn.
so really haven't posted.

yes I know I haven't been posting.
but I've finally gotten my specs.
and everyone says that I look like wenjun now ._.
WSC was quite fail.
cos we didn't mug - like my team didn't even TOUCH visual arts so effectively we got pwned and RGS just swept everything.
but whatever.
now ironically I'm bored cos I never feel like doing any work.
._.
shall have to go find something to do.
or maybe re-read WSC stuff.
damn.

ouch.
zzz I need a new pair of specs.
actually I've made them already but I'll only get them on like tues.
so I get tired after staring at the screen for a while.
anyway bio CT was epic fail.
cos I didn't do the dialysis elearning [which is coming back to haunt me again].
and I wasn't paying attention.
so in the end I died for one [of the two] structured questions.
and I have to perform for sec2s as part of MPP tomorrow.

one raffles [link]
is that building which houses citylink.
XD.
but seriously openhouse was FUN.
although I reached school at 7 and spent the first 30 min just walking around and started sweating really really badly.
so when we finally got into the humans hub my shirt was [effectively] transparent.
however actually it went very well - maybe cos we actually had an entire ROOM to showcase and all that.
and mrs yak ordered 8 pizzas for lunch XD.
so in the end I ended up spending the whole of openhouse [and then some] at the humans hub. which totally owns the science hub IMHO.
now I'm sleepy. zzz.
and I haven't even made my specs yet although they broke on wednesday.
meh.

ok I really owe this blog a post.
just that on wed a certain RC sec2 broke my specs so I have problems seeing and all that. and now if I stare at the screen too long my eyes start to hurt.
and it doesn't help that I sit at the back of the class.
anyway today:
ambassador's series was actually pretty good. I want to migrate to some western european welfare state! just that the questions were ._.
math was boring.
hcl was doing nothing cos she was getting us into groups for debates.
and I get to be the judge.
wait that isn't very good cos I'll have problems speaking. just that daniel is the other judge so yay.
prof malin was interesting. just that he turned off all the lights in the LT so I almost fell asleep.
and I was in the 2nd row.
ouch.
then that history/writing academic papers talk which OWL forced all of us to go for was quite interesting. just that I couldn't see anything on the slides again.
and that guy dragged from 530 to 6. so ended up chionging for piano immediately after that.
I've this feeling that my new teacher hates me. cos I don't really practice.
hmm what else oh I didn't die that badly for math CCT in the end. although the cancelling of sin2theta cost me 2 marks. like wth.

ugh math CCT was HORRIBLE.
[actually it was totally doable for me]
just that I freaked out after the first few questions.
and like totally forgot EVERYTHING.
however managed to complete everything in the end.
but then died cos I cancelled a sin2theta cos I was too nervous. and then while I was sketching my hand was shaking damn badly.
meh.
thurs:
math was ugh [cos I really HATE applications of differentiation. and I was already freaking out over trigo]
bio was quite fun - but plants are BORING. just that analogies to human reproduction [by LHL of course] are fun!
eng was interesting - did some socratic seminar. AGAIN. just that the article we were discussing was fun.
math CCT was ugh ugh ugh. plus the invigilator forced us to rearrange our desks AND sit in register order.
meh.
then down to peirce sec for RE. which went quite well [mainly thanks to the chocolates and sam soh crossdressing. XD]
just that now mrs yap [who was assessing us] wants us to present to lower sec ._.
then back to school. for RC stuff.
and overstayed/stayed back too late and was nearly late for piano.
and I don't like my new teacher.
friday:
chem was normal.
pe was zzz. again.
hcl was FUN [cos we were watching that movie again.]
english we managed to postpone writing our final essays to monday so we did another socratic seminar.
zzz.
ugh WSC tmr. but at least I've finished reading BOTH lit texts. yay.
but that doesn't mean that I UNDERSTAND what they're talking about.

ugh I feel sick.
and had a horrible training today - shouted too much and nearly murdered my throat. and then got pissed off with a LOT of people.
well as for school
PE was slack. and I HATE basketball.
math was slacker - EC wanted to continue with ws1 but we weren't paying attention so he let us do trigo revision instead.
hcl - I ended up spending 30 minutes doing my oral presentation. which according to everyone else was damn lol since I misread everything.
meh.
but the movie was really good.
chem was zzzzzzzzz.
geog was zzzzzzzzz.
just that I left halfway for that english/philo thing at HCI.
which was quite ugh.
and seriously it was too short.
and the group presentations were meh.
then back to school for CCA.
I don't care about trigo anymore - shall try to sleep now.
whee.

350 [yay?]
hmm german MOCK O level today was quite lol.
essay was relatively doable just that I keep forgetting my vocab.
and I wrote 190 words and since it's a MOCK O level we're limited to 150. So I ended up cancelling here and there and making a huge mess on my paper.
I so need correction tape/fluid.
then listening.
so the first sections were useless.
what they did was take a dialogue, cut it into bits and pieces, and then play each fragment, ask a question, replay the fragment, ask the question again, and then move on to the next fragment.
and the questions were all MCQ.
so you could guess how that went.
however at the last part of the listening it was just a full dialogue + open-ended questions. so you also could guess how that went too.
then written - both comprehensions were exercises in copying. just that the passages didn't quite make sense.
the close was similar to listening - started off way too easy and ended way too tough. meh.
but as I told wzy I just do the paper and forget the whole thing.
yay.
school today was quite fun.
philo we were talking about AO and democracy [well separately of course]. and we were just screwing around as always.
math eddie retaught worksheet 1.
HCL we watched some really cool movie. WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES! =D
physics was spent doing a MOCK paper.
house meeting was FUN! cos we were shouting stephen down and stuff.
then UNSW science was really just testing for skills. especially TIME-MANAGEMENT SKILLS.
ugh.
hmm guess I ought to sleep.
and the weather's quite nice tonight.
it was horrible on the way to MOELC - it had just rained and so the humidity was bloody high. so of course my shirt turned transparent again.

349 [is just WEIRD]
I think 349 is a weird number.
but then the 35xs aren't much better - e.g. 355 or um 358? I don't like 355.
._.
well anyway I thought the HCL midyear went relatively well.
but the only reason why it did was cos I don't really have any expectations for my HCL at all.
hmm.
saturday went back to school from 10 - 4.
today was a waste of time.
so really I prefer weekdays to weekends - at least I have something to do [instead of ROTTING on the com]. and I've just realised that in my blog I totally underuse [is that even a word cos my spellchecker says it isn't ._.] the comma - or maybe that's cos I ramble way too much [and when I ramble I either use a dash or the brackets]. lol.
so anyway I'm still bored.
should I go for RC or "class" outing - which I doubt most people will show up for - but then again not many people will turn up for RC stuff either.
meh.
but either way it's still better than staying at home.
just that I have a whole bunch of stuff to do.
hmm
1. reflections for 4H LJ - and the only reason why EC picked me [and rascal (!)] to do the reflections was cos he thinks I picked ICA - well I was randoming, so sue me. oh and maybe rascal cos he was asking funny questions [which I planted on him]. ha.
2. trigo! i.e. memorise formulae and hope for the best. again. so really not much
3. germanmidyear it's only a "mock O level" and isn't even counted all you 4H muggers. ok wait so that isn't work. yay.
3. batch CiP stuff
4. hmm do I have any overdue geog/hcl/chem? wait I think I might just have the remnants of a half-done baozhang in my bag. damn.
oh and filing - my red bag thingy which I dump all my worksheets in is starting to get heavy.
oh and RC on wed ._.
ok fine so I really don't have that much homework - or maybe I just procrastinated it all away.
=D

348/SURVIVED.
wow I can't believe that I survived HCL midyear.
and had time to SPARE after both papers.
paper 1 was quite badly done - wrote 3.5 sides for yingyongwen and 4.5 sides for yilunwen. and we have people like semen writing 6 and 8 respectively.
so anyway I ended with 15 min to spare cos there's just this limit to how much you can crap for the yilunwen - and I don't even think mine had any structure - it was just reasons for the situation, followed by one random paragraph on why character was more important than grades or something, and then solutions ._.
yingyongwen was better - however a little short [and I didn't really talk about the reasons behind the situation. damn.] and I only realised 1 min before the paper was about to end that I missed out one line in my geshi ._.
so anyway very short recess.
and then paper 2.
randomed for zonghe.
the first 2 lijies were remarkably easy.
then the 3rd lijie was mainly copying - except for the definition questions [where they give you a phrase and you're supposed to define it - duh ._.] and that last question asking for your opinion.
so I did the 4 copying questions and left the rest blank.
then lijie 4 which didn't really make much sense - so I just copied as much as I could and left the personal response/opinion question blank.
then I looked back at lijie 3 and found out that the personal response question looked easy too. so I wrote a bit of rubbish for that.
then changwen which was SCREWED cos the passage was just weird.
then now I had 13 marks blank - 4x definition questions + 5m question at the end of lijie 4 which I didn't even UNDERSTAND - well I understood the question but I didn't understand the quote the question was based on.
so like 20 min more [shockingly - in my EOY last year I ran out of time and left 12m blank ._.]
then I went to sleep.
then NY came over and whacked me when she saw my unanswered questions.
so I wrote nonsense for the definitions [hoping for half a mark each XD]. and then I still couldn't understand the give examples from real life thingy.
so I just searched for the quote in the passage and copied everything around it.
then I decided to sleep again.
just that NY came around and hit me. and told me to check.
which I did - or at least pretended to.
and I discovered a wrong word. yay.
._.
oh and paper 2 had "COMMONT TEST" on the front cover.
so anyway this paper was like zzzzzzzz. a lot of copying. so hopefully I ought to pass. yay.

oh and paper 2 had "COMMONT TEST" on the front cover.
so anyway this paper was like zzzzzzzz. a lot of copying. so hopefully I ought to pass. yay.

meh I'm bored.
so far what I've done for HCL revision:
1. memorise 格式
2. nothing else.
yeah I know I'll screw up.
might fail but whatever.
school today -
bio was lawl [no pun intended, seriously XD] - law dragged us to 2nd floor atrium to do our bio spa [cos apparently it's more conducive for groupwork - just that there's no aircon T.T] - well we got to talk to all the teachers walking to the staffrooms. XD.
SS was slack - going through that simon tay article and gossiping - or rather talking about gossiping. lol.
chem was zzz. we wasted time [as usual]. XD
math was lesson ob - and I have this theory that every time we have a lesson ob the teachers teach worse - which was very true - I had TOTALLY NO IDEA what eddie was saying.
meh.
HCL wasn't much - just that it never seemed to end. [cos she kept going through stuff and we kept asking questions.]
anyway I'm so dead for hcl midyear. meh.

346 [is also quite a nice number]
LJ day was FUN.
so basically we were supposed to meet at 1330.
but then mass-convoing on facebook last night we decided to meet for lunch at 1230.
and well me being me - I managed to end up at J8 20 min early - it always seems that I'm either very early or just late for stuff.
so I was walking/loitering around. so bumped into 4D and 4C.
then slowly the 4H people started to arrive.
hmm first was matthew then um clive then more and more [actually I'm just too lazy to remember]
so eventually we ended up with about half the class there.
and since we couldn't find any space anywhere we just all packed our food and walked back to school.
so we ate in the canteen - which was quite funny cos we were like the only class there. oh and I bought 4 bags of chips.
then off to the raja block to assemble.
turns out we were both right/wrong - CCK was wearing something which looked like a cross between light brown and light purple. so while we were waiting for the bus we took our temperatures ._.
or as I was shouting "guys go fake your temperature". aaron brought his fahrenheit thermometer [again] but forgot the calculator. XD.
then well while waiting for the bus I opened a packet of chips.
and we were playing retarded games - first heart attack and then concentration [in full view of the teachers/RIJC students who seem to have some obsession with the Raja block].
and EC was playing with ewan's soccer ball.
then onto the bus - taiti with EC.
so he actually won 3 games in a row.
then he lost the next one. lol.
but seriously he's quite good.
so when we arrived at the tuas checkpoint we had this presentation about the checkpoint - which was quite zzz.
until we [I] started to ask FUNNY questions.
"what happens if you lose your passport?"
"what happens if you bring chewing gum into singapore?"
actually I had 2 more questions - but decided to use rascal to ask them instead.
so we asked that officer:
"what was the most creative way of smuggling people that you've encountered"
"what was the most interesting thing that you've confiscated"
then we watched a HILARIOUS video which aimed to educate homeowners [how... appropriate] on what to do to avoid being arrested for harbouring illegal immigrants.
the video then went on to depict scenarios of people NOT following the "3 steps" and getting arrested ._.
after that was another video which aimed to show how to enter singapore. well rather what to do at immigration/customs.
so being government videos and all that they were ridiculously exaggerated - which provided a very good source of entertainment to us. for example they had this guy passing through customs with fake guns and knives AND banned publications [read: playboy] and being smart enough to go into the "red lane" and declare them.
wow.
so after that we discovered that we had food.
they catered a whole buffet for one class.
wow.
so while we were eating we discovered some interesting posters in the area - quite a few examples of smuggling/fake passports which were quite LOL.
anyway we went to see the arrival hall thingy for people arriving by bus - we went through that for MM - just that we weren't allowed to go down thanks to SWINE FLU.
anyway on the bus ride back we were singing.
in falsettos.
and also we sang several national songs, replacing "Singapore" with a certain math teacher's name.
and some other random songs.
and we ate more chips.
so really this was THE most fun LJ day ever. not in the least thanks to the food/
and to quote EC "martin now I know why you chose this place"
[cos really when we were 'voting' for our destinations we were all shouting out random places and so happened that I saw ICA and saw that it was bloody far so I shouted for that one. long bus rides are fun!]

yay posting from school now - cos morning assembly got cancelled thanks to the rain.
anyway 4H seems pretty chaotic/noisy now. and wenjun is looking over my shoulder so I can't type any incriminating things.
ok I'm getting a headache. especially thanks to shawn tan's voice.
oh damn I forgot to bring my health booklet.
and I forgot to do that stupid HCL essay thing [it's supposedly my turn today but it seems that she isn't in school].
I feel damn antisocial.
damn eddie just came in.
and kirk's on the PA system now.
and we're all standing up for no apparent reason [well maybe cos we haven't greeted him yet].
O.o jiarong just came online.

344 [isn't really that nice a number]
ok fine finally decided to post after a week or so.
I seriously HATE long weekends. wasted friday by slacking on the com for all of 10 [or more] hours. and then saturday [i.e. today] well went down to school [but managed to waste a lot of time in J8 deciding what to eat] for WSC - which was seriously a waste of time - even EC would be better ._.
and then some RC stuff [and as always the sec2s are quite horrible].
so anyway this week [but then again I can't quite remember what happened]. meh.
ok thursday skipped school to go down to GESS for NEA EC module 4 [with international schools]. so thanks to bad planning and all that no other local schools went down - and RI only sent 1 guy i.e. me since they only decided to let one guy miss school. also the french/canadian/australian schools were still on holiday ._.
so it was only me/GESS/UWC/Delhi Public School Singapore [but I resisted the urge to ask them if they knew a Mrs Kala XD].
so anyway the speaker was some weird guy. and then everyone was split into groups. so like 6 GESS people in one, 5 indians + 1 UWC person in another, and the rest of the GESS people + me + the other UWC person in the last. so the speaker was zzz. then well at the first activity we already couldn't get along. cos like the GESS guys in my group were damn screwed up so most of the work was left to the GESS girl + the UWC girl + me. just that the UWC girl was trying to force her ideas on all of us and in the end she ended up pissing everyone off.
so we had to come up with an idea for some environmental project in 'our' school [but then again we were working in groups] so like we had some big mess trying to decide what to do [thanks to UWC fighting with GESS]. so it went really badly but was only saved by lunch.
so lunch the food was quite decent - except for the fact that the [anorexic] GESS girls only ate fruit. so since lunch was 1 hour long we spent the rest of the time talking/listening to that speaker tell stories which are quite zzz. and then finally the GESS people discovered that I spoke german so a few of them were quite embarrassed given that they had made some not-so-positive comments about 'chinese people' - i.e. me [although I didn't do anything!] and the UWC girl - who seriously only looks chinese but has an american accent or something.
then after lunch just finishing our project planning and then presenting. zzz.
so anyway it wasn't worth it - EXCEPT FOR THE FOOD - cos the workshop was quite useless. zzz.
and I'm now an EC. XD
then went back to RI to watch that SYF showcase, met up with jack/jim and yf/some SE people in the library, went with jim for dinner and met the guitar people on the way [i.e. darren/shawn tan/wesley]. then met kwuntong/gl/michael/4A people at J8 and a whole bunch of other guitar people [i.e. daryl/weixuan] too. so went to s11 to eat with jim/darren/shawn tan/wesley/daryl/weixuan and met richard/rongjun/jessica.
then well we split up - me/darren/shawn/wesley went to popular to look for hcl assessment books for shawn, who also tried to recommend some to me [NO WAY!] and then richard/jim/rongjun went to comics connection.
walked back to school [stopping for icecream on the way], and went with them to the gallery. which was where the performers had to sit - and they forgot to turn on the aircon. meh.
then went down again cos they had to get their guitars, met weixuan and taught him a few swear words [and I learnt some from the EC workshop, so it really wasn't THAT much of a waste of time] which he promptly used on clement who so happened to turn up. then the guitar people came, went up with them and went back down again.
so met avinash/jessica/daniel ng, so we spent damn long deciding where to sit and in the end took a seat in the back row. so we couldn't see anything so daniel and I ended up standing for most of the concert.
so anyway I kept looking up [to wave at the gallery] or at the door - cos a LOT of people were late [especially certain teachers] - so met mrs neoh there as well as quite a number of teachers. however turnout was mainly parents though. zzz.
so it really wasn't AS BAD as I'd expected [cos sports people wouldn't go and UGs are too busy/don't care]. however as for the individual performances:
band was ok, just that the acoustics of the hall really suck so everyone's damn soft and thus only band sounds ok. and they're good when they make a LOT of noise and fill up the hall and all that. they should do that more often seriously.
choir was also quite interesting. since they had microphones. but it was a bit repetitive/boring. and the high parts were scary.
then CO [fail - even huang agrees] - thanks to the acoustics and all that. and their first [or was it second] piece just went ON AND ON AND ON AND ON [AND ON] - so whenever we thought that it was about to end it didn't. and eventually when their second piece DID end the ending screwed up. cos they seemed as though they were rushing and all that.
guitar was barely audible [EVEN WITH MICROPHONES]. and repetitive. as how daniel put it I don't get why they're an ENSEMBLE - isn't guitar a solo instrument?
SE was overrated. and repetitive too. I guess I really can't appreciate music.
so anyway after that just loitered in the hall [and everyone was trying to slap weixuan - even though there were still several parents there] - oh and the microphones during the concert were IMBA - cos they'd like disconnect? intermittently [I love this word] so some words/phrases wouldn't be um... microphoned? [meh forgot the word] - so like it's funny. especially when they break up the teachers'/conductors' names - ok so where was I?
oh yeah we were all trying to slap weixuan.
so in the end went home with big auntie/weixuan. initially we tried to flag a cab from RI, but there wasn't one, so we decided to take 88 instead.
so we effectively had the whole upper deck of the bus to ourselves so we were playing some really stupid games. then when we reached AMK we decided to get off and try to get a cab at the taxi stand there.
however the queue was rather long.
so being the sl*ts that they were, wx and semen decided to walk down the road and flag a taxi there. which worked. to quote them "sometimes being bitchy pays off" - and of course I was just an innocent bystander.
so took the cab all the way to weixuan's house and I walked the remainder of the distance back. which was further than I thought it was. meh.
ok now I'm still bored.
although I DID spend 30 min on this post. and that's even though I've beentalking typing non-stop. meh.

y = sin x
meh I seriously have this feeling that life is totally a sine curve
cos like well about two weeks ago things were going very well and stuff
[e.g. winning geochallenge and all that]
and now things seem to be getting worse
1. screwed up chem quiz [that reminds me I need to go fight with KSP and demand that my graph is acceptable just that I can't seem to find the time]
2. screwed up 2 TAs in a row
3. my bio is dying
4. my hcl is dying [well actually it was already dead]
5. just had a not-so-good humans club meeting
6. batch CiP sign-ups = FAIL. [and that was something which I did.]
so yeah I ama bit quite down now - and it doesn't help that I have WSC tomorrow and I haven't even READ macroeconomics let alone done any of the homework.
and of course I have this feeling that my german is slipping too. plus I haven't even been doing my homework.
and to top it all off I haven't even had time to read airliners.net since like quite a very very very long time.
so I'm like screwing up pretty badly now.
well hopefully things pick up soon. I hope.
and I'm actually quite worried that I may screw up even further [especially with stuff like batch CiP or socdoc or ISP etc]

silver is the new gold!
seriously these few days have been quite depressing.
yes I know I [say that I] totally detest sports CCAs - but then when you have friends in these CCAs then yeah I do feel a little depressed.
and let's not talk about the MGs shall we.
but looking on the bright side of things this year might be the first year where the UGs get more golds than the sports. =D
and anyway I totally agree with what mrs nathan said today. yeah.
oh and I haven't posted in quite a long time cos I've been damn busy/tired.
2.4 was horrible. but managed 13:15 so yay! school:
math - zzzzzzzzzzzz. [as always]
chem - KSP spilled conc. NH3 on his hand. and well we've found a whole bunch of CUSHIONS/PILLOWS in the RA classroom [G2-08] which also happens to be the classroom for lit stuff. so we had fun throwing them around.
SS was quite interesting. but then quite depressing what with the singapore politics and censorship and all that.
hcl was fun. cos we were playing games - kinda like primary school stuff.
english was TALK. yay.
RE was more talk [with OWL] - and we're trying to get EC to teach us econs
zzz I'm sleepy shall post more tomorrow I guess.

ORA was fun. kinda. well we were just walking about and talking. and folding cranes during the walk-a-jogathon. and listening to zhengyang/kohwenjun/[someone else, can't remember] talk about this chinese drama/TV show ALL THROUGHOUT THE WALK. meh.
then rushed down to RGS for some workshop by JGIS. and turns out that there were no girls there. meh. and the turnout sucked so seriously I shouldn't have gone but then since yak registered 5 people at least 1 guy had to go. meh.
so anyway school:
friday:
international friendship celebrations were a waste of time - we [i.e. me/wzy/darren/wesley/shawn tan/waichoong] were up on the gallery but since there weren't any seats left we sat on the steps all the way at the back [with mrs nathan]. and then EC came and took a table and sat on that. however since we were all blocked by the people seated in front we were standing most of the time.
anyway the celebrations were boring. hmm... the indian ones are ok [I mean it's bollywood - how bad can it be], and the china one STARTED ok but then after a while it just degenerated. malaysia was the same thing as last year. and the year before last - i.e. a skit. then during the finale [we are the world] the whole school was DAMN STONE.
PE was a waste of time - and I think I'm going to fail NAPFA. and seriously 4H is a PE teacher's nightmare - we were like slacking/fooling around/ignoring the relief's instructions etc.
HCL - NY wasn't there but we got some scary woman who told us to do our sihan. but then NY gave us all the points already so yay.
english - just talking. as usual. and a bit of writing [she wanted us to imitate dave barry's style but then left the topic wide open [since the original one was poverty and everyone complained] so like we had quite a few people writing about EC].
went down to viriya after that for cohort CIP briefing. then back to school with waichoong who went to meet the physRA people [cos they had a lecture in the evening] so we all went to J8 for dinner/lunch for me.
thursday:
math - BORING! [product rule? can't remember.]
bio was the usual. and from now on wesley's known as "Mr. Oxytocin" cos that's what he answers for all of mr law's questions asking for hormones.
english - talking again. about rhetorical devices. which reminds me I still haven't gotten that worksheet done.
CLE was spent putting up the cranes. which was FUN. especially since ryoji/welras have a patch of blue sky above them. or rather blue cranes. XD
CCK was ok just that I don't understand electricity. and he got DAMN PISSED WITH AARON.
chemRA was FAIL. and that quiz was horrible but I don't care - either way I'm going to fail kinetics/don't understand what KSP says.
whee.
then rushed down to RGS for some workshop by JGIS. and turns out that there were no girls there. meh. and the turnout sucked so seriously I shouldn't have gone but then since yak registered 5 people at least 1 guy had to go. meh.
so anyway school:
friday:
international friendship celebrations were a waste of time - we [i.e. me/wzy/darren/wesley/shawn tan/waichoong] were up on the gallery but since there weren't any seats left we sat on the steps all the way at the back [with mrs nathan]. and then EC came and took a table and sat on that. however since we were all blocked by the people seated in front we were standing most of the time.
anyway the celebrations were boring. hmm... the indian ones are ok [I mean it's bollywood - how bad can it be], and the china one STARTED ok but then after a while it just degenerated. malaysia was the same thing as last year. and the year before last - i.e. a skit. then during the finale [we are the world] the whole school was DAMN STONE.
PE was a waste of time - and I think I'm going to fail NAPFA. and seriously 4H is a PE teacher's nightmare - we were like slacking/fooling around/ignoring the relief's instructions etc.
HCL - NY wasn't there but we got some scary woman who told us to do our sihan. but then NY gave us all the points already so yay.
english - just talking. as usual. and a bit of writing [she wanted us to imitate dave barry's style but then left the topic wide open [since the original one was poverty and everyone complained] so like we had quite a few people writing about EC].
went down to viriya after that for cohort CIP briefing. then back to school with waichoong who went to meet the physRA people [cos they had a lecture in the evening] so we all went to J8 for dinner/lunch for me.
thursday:

the good news is...
that my math is more than double my hcl.
the bad news, though, is...
that my math is more than double my hcl!
go figure.
anyway got back my PR1 like yesterday [and today] cos they reprinted all the PRs since some people [well actually quite a few] ended up taking both bio and bioRA and both chem and chemRA or even better bio/chemRP and RAs. so everyone got either russell's bioRA comments or aaron's chemRA comments.
so 49 for HCL [cos she didn't add in that zuowen T.T], 3.6 for bio thanks to that screwed-up practical, 3.6 for english [as per normal], and 4s for everything else. yay.
so overall 3.64 which is pretty good considering that wonderful 1.6 for HCL. =D in fact all my other subjects are like 1.5x that of HCL. meh.
and apparently EC thinks I'm very hardworking for math [which of course I'm not] - and seriously I don't even DESERVE that 100 XD.
meh shall post more later. and our class deco really PWNS.

meh haven't posted in quite a while.
hmm school's been quite fun.
monday: first period HCL. zzz. then english - went to the [comp] lab to look up a whole bunch of figures of speech which are actually very interesting. just that I spent too much time browsing [like what I do on wiki] so I didn't even complete half the worksheet.
math - screwed up the TA, 100% long gone but I don't care. meh. and differentiation is actually quite fun cos for some strange reason I can differentiate without having to convert/rewrite everything as fractional/negative indices first. yay.
bio - presentations on kidney [which we all impromptu-ed]. so since we didn't actually KNOW anything about the kidney - must be some new teaching method I guess - we just smoked/used the phones of the CEP people to check wiki and stuff. but then again I can see the benefit of looking everything up first.
geo - relief teacher! and full monty is an interesting film just that the accents are quite incomprehensible.
ss - people were falling asleep just that NTL didn't mind cos she herself thought that the ppt/topic was very boring. and my finger is starting to hurt so I guess that means that I should stop banging on the keyboard. meh.
tues:
philo - hotel rwanda is a very good film. just that I got pulled out halfway for my dialogue ob. but it's still quite depressing.
hcl - zzz. was boring [as usual] - and I was cutting up duzhe to make paper with which we can fold cranes.
math - even more boring. but chain rule is damn cool. haha.
physics was quite incomprehensible. and chem was a WASTE OF TIME. just that rascal and I were pissing shaun off with our markers [read whatever you want into that line]
german was zzzzzz.
and now I think I ought to do my RE.

334/ok I'm REALLY bored now
so yeah it's the third time today that I'm posting on this blog.
and I've finally decided that I shan't be lazy so I shall proceed to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday.
so I believe the first guy was either wesley or huihao [can't remember] on the 6th. then like michael on facebook a day early, and ben on the tagboard one day early too.
then on the 7th itself: wesley on the way to morning assembly, huihao on the way back from morning assembly, I think darren and ben in class, and well a few more people in school - I think aaron. oh and the funniest thing in the canteen cos jack was like "is your birthday today" and I was like "dunno/maybe" then he was like "eh tell me" and all that. it's fun tricking people/pretending that it isn't your birthday.
oh and then after 3rdlang went back to school for RE ._. so anyway arun and huihao were there [and obviously huihao told everyone] so yeah.
and on FACEBOOK! so first were the 2 ACS(I)/ex-SHPS guys daryl [gaah I know too many daryls. and benjamins.] and kevin. then let's see jason, wesley [AGAIN], jack, daniel [ng, chemRA - wait the other daniel whom I know is also in chemRA], jim, ben [for the second or third time already], suwe, huihao [for like the third time already], semen/hymen/clement, diaozheng, yunfei and so on.
oh and thanks to ben for posting on the class blog. and on this blog too. [so that's a total of 4 times from him I think. =D]
oh and on the 8th brought the laptop to school so wished wesley's facebook a very happy birthday just before morning assembly. then rascal logged into facebook too and I koped his password. and yunfei updated his status for him.
oh and happy birthday to WESLEY AW MING XUAN. again.
and seems like a LOT of 4H people are born in april:
7th: ME!
8th: wesley
16th: junyang [well facebook says 18th but the list on the egroup says 16th so I'm not very sure]
17th: aaron
20th: waichoong
26th: diaozheng [well at least that's according to the list on the egroup too]
so altogether 6/32 [18.75%] of 4H in april - that's like more than double the number of birthdays that we're supposed to have - 1/12 is 8.33%, 30/365 is 8.21% - so yay. and they're like so CONSECUTIVE.
haha.

hmm so what did I miss
[it's kinda tough considering that I'm the only guy in 4H who actually recounts what happens every day]
well this week was actually a very good week
1. won geochallenge
2. [I think] passed hcl
3. 99.03 = 100% for math
4. 93% for chem
5. 92% for PHYSICS like wth
6. 85% for SS
7. somehow 19.5/25 for geog so I ended up scraping 4.0
8. managed to clear most of my overdue homework [heck CHAOS]
9. well this whole week was actually very slack/fun. in fact it's so slack that I have nothing to do now. yay.
hmm wed:
math was boring. differentiation is ugh just that I think differentiating using the FIRST PRINCIPLE is so fun cos it's bloody tedious. =D
chem was zzz. but quite funny cos like KSP sent everyone who didn't do their homework [i.e. including me] out of the class. just that he ended up sending at least half the class out so he told us to go back in. =D
SS - 17 for my essay [which was quite lucky cos like the way I did this essay [and actually how I do all my SBQs] was just to write one line, throw in all the case studies and then write a little bit more]
HCL - ._.
english became bio. which was really DISGUSTING [with mr law's remarks about egestion and all that.]
RE - WSC was quite ok. and art is interesting.
then thurs - more egestion for bio. SS just wrapped up that worksheet on active citizenry followed by socdoc discussion which was slack/fun.
chem in lab - lycopodium and elephant's toothpaste DEMO by mrs koh. which was totally unremarkable [considering that last year for raffles trail I did elephant's toothpaste at least 14 times.]
math - EC was quite pissed off. eh wait that was on wed cos he had to leave the class for about 20 min or something. and we're still quite behind time.
hcl was SLACK. cos we managed to convince NY to not do much today.
then after school - went to HML cos I had to meet darren at 4+ to go down to borders and he had guitar. so read a bit, watched guanlin get harassed by his sec1s, and then fell asleep. whee.
then woke up, went down with darren to borders, bought a few books and then met up with OWL and went for DINNER - i.e. a 3hr buffet.
which was quite fun. and I ended up reaching home very very late. zzz.

332 - is a very nice number
[n.b. wanted to post this on the 8th but then some things happened so yeah I'm just post-dating this one. especially since I got back at 11 yesterday]
martin would like to thank all those people who wished him a very happy birthday [just that he's too lazy to list out everyone]
so anyway the 'main' ones: darren wesley wenghong ben jack/jim huihao [yeah and the rest of you guys it's not that you don't matter or something just that these few were the more memorable ones]
oh yeah and well of course I'd like to thank all those who didn't say anything at all - I'm sure I wouldn't miss you.
meh.
shall post more about school like later on. cos really for some strange reason I've nothing to do during this long weekend [except WSC stuff which makes me fall asleep and considering that I just woke up ._.]
hmm guess I'll be back on this blog sometime later tonight.

bleh I'm really tired.
and for some strange reason I feel like learning hokkien.
and for some stranger reason [well actually it isn't strange at all - I'm just lazy] I don't feel like doing my elearning today.
in fact I feel like sleeping now.
which I will.
ugh what an anticlimax. bleh.

5 April 2009
wow.
hmm haven't posted in about 3 days.
friday - titrations were quite fun. just that well now I don't really care much about accuracy/not contaminating stuff cos no matter how I try I still manage to get stuff contaminated anyway. so I really don't bother washing the pipettes/burettes/conical flasks properly anymore. and most of the time I miss the end-point [i.e. adding too much instead of adding drop by drop - which is really tedious] but now I don't bother redoing and just take the reading. it's a very imprecise science anyway [at least with what we have].
pe - totally flunked tennis assessment. =D. but expected it anyway.
hcl - now she's demanding my second zuowen. zzz. but can't really remember what happened during the lesson anyway.
english - watched some videos/talked about tone/body language and people read that essay out loud. and wesley you read weirdly.
then afterwards skipped hcl remedial [again] to go for the homecreation briefing. which ended quite late so ended up rushing off to yak to meet some tupperware people for earth day [week]. zzz.
then geotrail prep - wasted a LOT of time talking/discussing. then got home at about 6 and then well slacked. and slept relatively earlier.
then saturday!
woke up at 530, managed to get to NUS by 745 [and OWL was late ._.]. then registration, geotrail briefing [which ended early] so they showed us some random youtube videos.
well on to the format of the trail
5[+½] hours - ½ for lunch; 15min grace period following which -½m for each minute late
5 stations
30min per station; 5 min grace period and -½ for every min late thereafter
flag off at 0915, 0930 and 0945 [3 groups of 10]
well first things first - assuming 30min travel between stations [highly improbable] and 30min at each station, then it'd take 5½h already: 5x.5 = 2.5h for all stations, then from NUS to station 1, station 1 to station 2 etc. 5x.5 = 2.5h also. and then of course station 5 BACK to NUS which would be around 30 min too. so altogether 5.5h - not even counting lunch! so it was of course no surprise that no team made it back on time - even with that 15 min grace period.
then... the stations were ordered 1>2>3>4>5, and with 10 teams in each cluster the first 2 would go to station 1 first, the next 2 to station 2 and so on and then follow the order.
so anyway we went to the starting point [and I was arguing with KLL about stuff] and were given our clue - which was damn obvious. but of course I didn't shout it out this time. then when they said we could go we all saw a 96 come so we all dashed across the road. and yeah.
anyway our first station was ACM. and we were actually allowed to go into the galleries! so we were the first team there - got off at raffles place, ran along the river and over the bridge - and then about 5 min later RV [which was the other team which set off at 0930 and went to our station] arrived. yay.
and even later HCI showed up too. so then we were quite surprised cos they started at 0915 so we thought that it was their 2nd station already. but then it turned out to be their first. O.o
then after that next station was tiong bahru market, so like train to tiong bahru and a short bus trip. there we saw quite a few teams so we thought that we were late. but turns out that tiong bahru was their first station. so yay. and this time I had to do the AQ and ended up writing rubbish.
then next station was botanic gardens. so took a LONG bus ride. and on the bus we met another team - but then BG was their second and our third station - but then again they were from the 0945 batch.
so went to the gardens, jaywalked in full view of the other team, got our questions - and this time I had to go find out the answers. so ran all over the place and was perspiring really badly when I got back. so anyway finished the station, then it was supposed to be the lunch break - it was structured in such a way that if say you finished station 3 at 1234, then even if you arrived at station 4 you wouldn't be able to start the station until 30 min later [i.e. 1304/when the lunch break was over]. however we used the lunch to travel and eat on the go.
so anyway next station was natl museum - so we had to take a bus. so while waiting for the lights to change we saw the bus arrive. we had to wait cos it was a major intersection and couldn't jaywalk, but the moment the lights turned we dashed across the road.
but then so happened that there was ANOTHER set of traffic lights [instead of what would normally be a zebra crossing] and those lights hadn't changed yet - so half of our team ended up just running across. and almost being knocked down. so we missed our bus and waited about 10 min for the next one ._.
well we kinda got lost at the natl museum part, so we ended up on fort canning and had to use the back entrance. so at the museum we were again surprised that we were allowed into the galleries. but seriously the museum was very cool [both literally and figuratively].
then final station was bras basah complex. so we decided to walk/run there [but then halfway gave up and ended up taking a bus. for one stop.] so as we approached the station the stationmaster was on the phone and he was like "a team has just arrived for their fourth station" or something like that and I said no fifth and he was like shocked.
so we did the station. then took a train back and got off at buona vista.
and guess what? spent about 10-15 min waiting for 95. which ended up being filled with AT LEAST 10 teams. gaah should have taken 96 from clementi.
so anyway after that we all squeezed into the bus. then at the final bus stop everyone got off and ran. so well SCGS had a headstart being at the exit, but then I managed to overtake them and was the first of that whole crowd of people to reach LT11. then ran to the tables and submitted the timesheet and stalled for a while while waiting for the rest to arrive. so the rest of the teams had to queue behind us. =D
then well met OWL [who bought us food] and then went to get changed for grand finals.
but first there was geoad voting. which was zzz cos ours didn't seem to be very good. and halfway when they were screening the geoads this guy came up to me and asked me [or a representative from our team] to meet him outside the LT later on. which got me a little worried. then turns out that we got into the finals [along with ACS(B) - ACS(I) didn't even qualify for the final round - and NUSHS. which was quite a good thing considering that RGS wasn't in the finals too.]
then final round - format was as follows:
each team was to send 3 reps on stage, then the first representative from all the teams were to go up. then the first school's rep would pick a category and all 3 had to answer that question. then the second school's rep would pick another category and so on.
then once the 3 questions were done the first school had to present their geoad.
then the second representative from all the schools were to go up etc.
then the second school had to present and so on.
so it happened that we were the 3rd school. yay.
so our first rep happened to be KLL. so after the first set of 3 questions the score was tied with all schools at 40.] then NUSHS presented and when we heard their presentation we weren't that worried. cos it turned out that the other 2 schools didn't prepare while for us OWL was like forcing us to do a script just in case we got in. but either way we forgot the script when we were on stage.
then darren went up and then did quite well, now it was NUSHS 40 ACS(B) 60 RI(S) 60 [and really it was funny going up to the stations during the trail and telling the station masters that we were from RI (Secondary)]
then ACS(B) presented - which was better than NUSHS.
then I went up. so I got the first 2 questions wrong T.T [well so did the guy from ACS(B) and NUSHS got 1 right] - so going into the last question it was 60 to all schools.
well just so happened that the last question was GIS. which was like ugh. but then when I saw it the answer was kinda obvious. =D. so flashed the answer, and all 3 teams had different answers and so happened that - mine was correct. yay. so final score RI 80 ACS 60 NUSHS 60.
then we presented - I was quite nervous and apparently everyone was laughing cos I was shifting my weight but I think we did quite ok. and Q&A from judges went relatively well.
then PRIZE PRESENTATION.
wait audience round first - which was quite funny - to answer the question you had to call the emcee's handphone. so apparently some people were smsing him and stuff. but the questions were ._.
then the prize presentation - first were indiv awards for prelim rounds - RI had 3 people placing 2nd for the MCQ round - but then there were 5 2nds and 1 first.
then awards for the application question.
then prizes for geoAd. and so like we didn't get most popular or special mention [as expected] - but then shockingly for the top 3
3rd went to I THINK CHIJ. then 2nd was ACS(B). so anyway since we all thought ACS(B)'s and NUSHS's GeoAds were quite good. and both got into finals. so we all thought NUSHS was going to get first for geoAd. but NO. turns out that the judges liked our advertisement so much that we ended up getting first. so no one was prepared to go up and get the prizes etc.
then next were geotrail prizes - HCI got 3rd [although they only had 11 min for their last station and that would mean that they had 15min to get back to NUS], we got 2nd although I thought that our AQ bombed due to the bad handwriting and all that smoke - and we weren't very creative - but thankfully the answers to the factual questions could be found in the locations [omg just discovered that I've spent 40 min on this post] - so yay. oh and we managed to save quite a bit of time by running from place to place and at quite a few stations took like 35 min for the task - cos we wrote too much and all that - but we spent at least 30 min at each station [compared to some other teams] so we did have a slight edge there. and yeah NUSHS won geotrail.
then yeah prizes for finals, so NUSHS 3rd, ACS 2nd and RI(Secondary!) 1st - for the first time in 5 years.
yay. but actually we were quite lucky for the finals - e.g. if we had faced RG/NY/HC/SC then we might not have gotten first - but then again thanks to our geoad and geotrail - yay.
so anyway now the pressure's on next year's batch. ha.
friday - titrations were quite fun. just that well now I don't really care much about accuracy/not contaminating stuff cos no matter how I try I still manage to get stuff contaminated anyway. so I really don't bother washing the pipettes/burettes/conical flasks properly anymore. and most of the time I miss the end-point [i.e. adding too much instead of adding drop by drop - which is really tedious] but now I don't bother redoing and just take the reading. it's a very imprecise science anyway [at least with what we have].
pe - totally flunked tennis assessment. =D. but expected it anyway.
hcl - now she's demanding my second zuowen. zzz. but can't really remember what happened during the lesson anyway.
english - watched some videos/talked about tone/body language and people read that essay out loud. and wesley you read weirdly.
then afterwards skipped hcl remedial [again] to go for the homecreation briefing. which ended quite late so ended up rushing off to yak to meet some tupperware people for earth day [week]. zzz.
then geotrail prep - wasted a LOT of time talking/discussing. then got home at about 6 and then well slacked. and slept relatively earlier.
then saturday!
woke up at 530, managed to get to NUS by 745 [and OWL was late ._.]. then registration, geotrail briefing [which ended early] so they showed us some random youtube videos.
well on to the format of the trail
